WASH LEARNING THEME 1:
Delivering safely managed water and sanitation services 

Realising safely managed services in water and sanitation demands new solutions and better performance, with services tailored to different urban and rural contexts. This theme explores professionalisation, expansion of utilities and the role of private operators in water, as well as city-wide sanitation and area-wide approaches for sanitation in rural areas.

Theme 2
WASH LEARNING THEME 2:
Markets and behaviour change: how people invest and driving to scale

Market-based approaches at scale are a means to get sanitation and hygiene products and services into the homes of consumers which improves health and livelihood of households. Focus on the role of public and private sector in creating markets and influencing positive behaviors.

Water resource management: finding systemic solutions 

Water is a scarce resource, threatened by droughts, floods, and pollution. How can we manage and govern water and sanitation wisely with stakeholders, addressing climate change challenges and building on technological innovation?

Theme 4
WASH LEARNING THEME 4:
Governments, politics and systems change

How are local and national governments driving change? This theme will explore how governments are leading change in water, sanitation and hygiene systems, the role of partners and civil society in change, as well as the potential of information as a driving force.

Systems change and collective action 

To really foster equitable systems and empower collective action, we must identify our universal story. Focusing on themes decolonization, collective action for WASH, and systems thinking in specific contexts, this theme focuses on co-creation and fueling locally-led solutions.
